CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) recruits, trains and empowers community volunteers to be the voice for abused and neglected children in the child welfare system.
We believe every child should have a dedicated advocate speaking up for their best interest in the courtroom and other meetings, ensuring each child’s needs remain a priority in an overburdened child welfare system.
When the state steps in to protect a child's safety because the people responsible for protecting them have not, a judge appoints a volunteer advocate to make independent and informed recommendations to help the court make a ruling about the child’s best interest. CASA strives to be the one constant on a child’s journey through the child welfare system.
